PETROF

WITH A LOVE OF MUSIC AND CRAFT

For more than 155 years

PETROF is currently the largest producer of acoustic grand and upright pianos in Europe. It trades in 5 continents and exports to over 65 countries the world over. Since 1864, when Antonín Petrof built his first piano, we have produced under the PETROF name roughly 630,000 instruments and many others within the PETROF Brand Family. Our pianos are popular among musicians above all for their unusually soft, gentle, rounded and romantic tone. Over the decades of their production much has changed, but precise work by hand, careful selection of materials and the unchanging romantic sound endure. Countless famous performers and well-known personalities have fallen in love with PETROF instruments, and the representatives of the fifth generation proudly continue in their honorable trade and family tradition.

Handwork accounts for up to 80% of production operations. PETROF pianos would not be what they are today if not for the expertise of master piano makers, intoners, and tuners. They would not have earned such international acclaim or boasted their distinctive romantic sound, which is admired by music lovers all over the world.

Every instrument that leaves our factory represents those who contributed to its creation. As the instrument progresses through the manufacturing process, each craftsman ensures that he has given his duty the utmost attention. After 9 months, the result is a masterpiece, whose birth certificate lists the names of all of its creators, and which reflects the Petrof family's more than 150 years of experience, love of music, and honorable commerce.

The PETROF collection of grand and upright pianos is extensive and meets the needs of a wide range of consumers. It is, however, extremely common for us to create instruments exactly to the specifications of our customers. Instruments with designs inspired by aesthetic influences such as rococo are still in demand. In recent years, very modern instruments fit for contemporary interiors have also appeared.
