Tanglewood recognise that to introduce people to music an instrument must have a high build quality, good playability, attractive cosmetics and as many features as possible to encourage and reward aspiring musicians. Using this design brief, Tanglewood luthiers created the Discovery Exotic series, a whole range of genuine musical instruments which feature 4 band EQ systems with stage backlighting, delicate 2mm fingerboard dots, black soft touch machine head buttons and understated sound hole rosettes. All these features are aimed at bringing the specification of a much more expensive instrument into the entry level market.
We believe this new Winterleaf model is destined to be future Tanglewood classic.
We have created the instrument to our Super Folk Cutaway style specification, a shape we invented over three decades ago now , and added a contemporary twist to achieve the warm tonal voice we felt the guitar needed.
Each instrument features a Solid African Mahogany top, married to carefully selected African Mahogany back and sides to perform perfectly and uniquely for the creative player.
Each guitar has the statutory Winterleaf check list ingredients, Solid Top, Grover Machineheads, Premium Plus EQ etc etc, but the combination of features in this model, taken as a whole, is an absolute revelation, we love the sound they make and are sure you will too.
We’ve even created a stunning new finish, rear we’ve christened Autumn Vintage Burst, and this high gloss finish, set carefully and sparingly over the gorgeous mahogany timber genuinely takes this guitar to another dimension aesthetically. Choose this model if you want a guitar that hands down looks every bit as good as it sounds.
Parlour guitars, with their diminutive physical dimensions and vintage styling always stand out on a retailers wall, but in reality, this was the original acoustic body shape for scores of years, Dreadnought and Folk and other variants didn’t appear until many years after the Parlour, so they are not quite as rare as we often think.
To compliment the heritage of the parlour shape, we marry a Canadian Spruce top, with Indonesian Mahogany, ensuring we have a great tone, then we brace the top as we would a folk model, so that we get a tremendous sound projection.
This model has an onboard Tanglewood EX4 EQ system, with 4 band graphic, so it can be used live or in the studio, and if you zoom in on the picture you will note the lovely hand inlaid genuine timber rosette which we think finishes the instrument off perfectly.
Our classic and unique Tanglewood shape, the Super Folk cutaway is represented perfectly in this model. From the warm Spruce top, imported from Canada to the elegantly detailed hand inlaid wood rosette, this instrument oozes understated quality. The Spruce top gives the guitar an immediate, well voiced, bass rich sound right out of the box. We love the stripped down, natural look of these guitars, we believe their value for money is outstanding and if you want a stunning contemporary guitar that is all about the sound, you’ve found it here.
Inspired by nature and the raw beauty of classic timber, Roadster II instruments make a truly organic and understated natural statement. We’ve long pioneered the practise of sustainable forestry in the pursuit of our art and for this latest Roadster series we match finely graded Canadian Spruce tops with traditional Indonesian mahogany back and sides to produce tonally rich instruments that sound instantly wonderful tuned up right out of the box.
We call them Roadster because to us, their cosmetic appeal evokes a sense of being close to nature… just as driving a classic open top car with the wind in your hair!
Our luthiers have to work especially hard in creating this look, finishing the smooth edging joins of the body very carefully because there is no binding added to the body of these models, therefore no margin for error. Roadster II Spruce tops are finished and sealed in high grade, low density satin lacquer and as well as capturing the stripped down raw timber cosmetic effect we envisaged on the drawing board, we are sure this also adds to their sweet sounding sonic appeal.
The Crossroads series pays homage to the style and sound of classic instruments from 1930’s America. Michael Sanden selected the timbers, making the tops a precise measurement so they flex and respond to the players attack. He then braced the instrument with his own patterns to give each guitar its own personality. He wanted to make a guitar that would have the sound that any musician, professional or amateur could appreciate. To make the guitar look authentic to the 1930’s era, Michael added a dark stain to the timbers that we call Whiskey Barrel to make the Crossroads look historic and simply elegant.
Now, with the Ibanez B200 you get a sweet 5-string closed-back banjo at a price that wont break the bank. It features a basswood rim with 24-lug configuration, a rolled brass tone ring and mahogany resonator. The mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl inlay. Chrome banjo tuners lend a vintage note while keeping things in tune.
The A6 Ultra continues with the innovative concepts found in all Godin A-series guitars, such as combining amazing plugged-in acoustic sound with the feel of an electric neck, along with a chambered body design that virtually eliminates feedback in live & loud settings. These features stand true and better than ever in the A6 Ultra with the added “Oomph!” and full tone of a Godin humbucker in the neck position. In addition, the undersaddle transducer and dual outputs (acoustic and electric) combine for a huge sound with the help of a Custom Godin preamp, which is voiced specifically for the A6 Ultra. This preamp section enables the player to control their tone via sliders for acoustic volume, treble, mid, bass EQ, and independent controls for the electric humbucker volume, treble, and bass. Whether plugging into the single acoustic mix or via both outputs, controlling your tone is at your fingertips. And, the A6 Ultra delivers in all styles of music, from jazz to rock, to country, and not to mention being a great slide guitar for blues.

The Ibanez AEG 50 BK, a compact body electric acoustic guitar with a slim neck has been well-accepted for its easy playability for more than two decades.
Ibanez is proud to announce that the AEG series has been renewed with updated electronics and looks. The changes were based on the concept, "simple and easy control." The AEG50 starts with a new preamp, an Ibanez AEQ-TTS. The small and simple preamp has only two control knobs, volume and shape. This at-a-glance tone control offers natural acoustic sound in the center position. It allows players to adjust the tone easily and enables them to go from low, fat and powerful tones to a bright and crispy sound while adjusting only one knob. A new easy-to-read onboard tuner with LCD(liquid crystal display) is located on the preamp. The AEG50 comes with a simplified rosette, a binding and ornamentation on the headstock. These finer details add a sharp and stylish atomosphere to the guitar.
Other features include a Spruce top and a Sapele back & sides body, an Ibanez T-bar II Undersaddle pickup which equalizes the volume from each string and delivers a well-balanced signal, and special bulb-shaped Ibanez Advantage Bridge pins for easy string installation.

The Maritime SWS SG from Seagull Guitars is a full-sized dreadnought acoustic guitar made with a select pressure-treated solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, and a natural semi-gloss custom-polished finish. The guitar offers a warm, rich, balanced sound with a wide dynamic range well suited for solo performers or playing with a full band. The instrument's lightweight finish allows the wood to resonate more freely so the guitar can age properly and improve its sound over time.
The Maritime SWS features a slim, set-in neck with a 1.8" nut width, and has a tapered headstock for straight string pull, which minimizes the neck twisting effect and improves tuning. A double-function truss rod system bends in both directions, providing control over the neck and allowing for accurate adjustments, whether it is under-bowed or over-bowed.
